Hi and welcome to my little website! ********************************* My name is Melissa Hinson. My husband and I live in the country portion of Lancaster County, SC on plenty of wooded acreage with rolling hills, two ponds and many trails to explore. We have one son in high school, and our little family along with our furry babies enjoy the peace and quiet that the country offers. I am a public school Elementary Art teacher, while my husband has retired from education- where he served as a Physical education teacher for 28 years. Together, our family raises beautiful, pet quality AKC miniature schnauzers at an affordable price to families. We only breed the typical colors: black, black & silver and salt & pepper.
We've spent many years perfecting each litter we produce, using only black, black and silver and the salt and pepper breeders-and have arrived at beautiful, precious, well behaved, smart and curious offspring!🐾❤️
I bought my first miniature schnauzer in 2004. I had been researching breeds that were medium to small in size, and those which did not shed-for many months. I had gotten married the previous summer, and wished to have a "baby" for my new husband and I to care for. I had decided that a miniature schnauzer puppy would be the best fit for our home, so I set out to find one! There are a handful of shops that sell one or two breeds on occasion in my area-so I thought Id check into that rather than paying insane costs for a puppy from the internet sites advertising puppies. 😳 One random Saturday, I set out to find our puppy. I searched in 3 local counties near me- and something led me into Monroe, NC. I looked through a phonebook listing for pets, and saw a heading that read "Puppy Love". I assumed it was a pet shop, and drove up to see what they had. To my dismay, it was only a grooming shop. As I looked around at the grooming products (to pretend that I knew it was a grooming shop) a groomer from the back room asked me if she could help me. I gave in to my embarrassment and admitted that I thought the shop was a store that sold pets. The woman moved to the swinging doors that separated the store from the grooming portion, and told me that it was only a grooming shop. Then she paused. "What were you looking for?" I told her I was looking for a puppy, a miniature schnauzer. Her eyes widened. She stepped back, pulling one swinging door against her, and said, "Well look right here!". I looked in, and was delighted to see an exercise pen FULL of black miniature schnauzer puppies!!! There were probably only six, max- but my memory is clouded with the pure joy in my discovery! God was with me on that day!!
I chose a black male. He sat in the passenger seat on the way home and stared at me the whole drive. I was in love!❤️❤️❤️ I named him Toby. His precious, sweet soul holds a forever spot in my heart.
In 2011, I had "accumulated" another male and a female. I ran the breeding idea by my husband who, after some consideration, gave me the thumbs up. So I began researching breeding programs online.
